Oh My Gosh

It's gonna be hell-of-a-concert-year for Indonesia. I could not even recall which bands have come here.

One of it is Paramore. They're coming here NEXT WEEK. Already bought tickets since months ago and I join a contest/games/quiz to win
an opportunity to meet the band on a meet-and-greet or even cooler a BACKSTAGE PASS!! So excited I hope I win!!

This morning just saw an official news from Yellowcard. It goes like this:

SO EXCITED!!! Going to watch this with my brother!! Woohoo...
I couldn't thank him enough for giving me this:

Signed Yellowcard CD

One Word to sum this all: EXCITED!

Thankful

And you should always be..

I regret that this afternoon I was too selfish too admit I was forgotten in this world..

But tonight, when I need the biggest support, I got them. From the people who perhaps didn't bother me on a daily basis. Well, all you got to do is (probably) ask..

You know who you are. Thanks for supporting me on this journey to meet Hayley Williams of Paramore :)

Changes

Dear the-rest-of-universe-who-doesn't-understand,

Yes, here I am writing cowardly. I knew what I did was wrong. I know you must've been hurt too that you now hate me constantly or tried so hard not to hate me but in reverse, hate yourself. What I did was something I am not proud either and yourself is not who you should hate.

What I did was merely an act of anger, from a heart that is hurt. I did not want anything or even anyone to wait for this heart to be repaired to even start-over, cause this heart has had its turn and to be sorry, it has changed, which I hope it grew stronger. Waiting is not a waste of time, but without a due, it is. So that's why I did not want anything or even anyone to wait. Because I have waited and somehow along the way I didn't realize my heart loses what it was suppose to keep.

So, let's just move along. Let's forgive ourselves, cause that's what I am trying. It's my way to start over, to repair. Judge me all you want, bring along your judgements to me 'cause I won't try to defend myself anymore. Wrong was wrong. Let's keep that in the past, cause I have closed the book.

Que Sera Sera.

Sincerely,
A Heart In Repair

Logical Things

I have a friend, let's just call him Waldo. We are not best-friends, not even close for being lovers. We're friends. Period. I rarely talk heart to heart with him, but when I do, I always get my mind straight up and things he said made sense.

I would say he's wise. In way that his inputs are not preachy yet it still teaches you. He would tell you you're wrong. That's why when I feel lost or well I need enlightment, I came to talk to him. Recently, we had some bumps on our lives. And so we had a couple talks. And he would say some things. Logical things that logically help through bad times.

Some of it are this:

- Bad things are just as bad as how you handle it.
If you handle what happenned in the past with good attitude, it wouldn't be that bad. Things will work out better. You got to believe for something's better.

- Fake happiness until you're really happy
Well I forgot how he said it actually but it sort of means like that. If you read the law of attraction, it made clear sense. Yes how can you be happy when you're sad? You got to set your mind to it. Right?

And one last "order" that he said to me last night before we end the talk
"You can cry all you want tonight, but tomorrow you must stand up stronger than today"

And yes, before I went to sleep I pray "Let the tears of tonight be the strength of tomorrow"

Good morning people and have a nice happy day :)

Gazzillion Times If In Rationality

Hope for the best. Prepare for the worst.

When you put it into the law of attraction, IF you PREPARE for the WORST then you are attracting the worst. Or do you not? Well.... Since you attract two opposites....

I hate this part of my brain.

You'll never be prepared for the worst, I think.
But what always happened is the best.

HOPEfully.

Cinta Itu Buta

Beribu-ribu kali lagunya sudah diputar. Tidak pernah bosan tidak pernah bosan. Terlalu memanjakan telinga.

Bertatap muka? Belum pernah. Aaaaaah.. Mengecewakan...
Musiknya terlalu menghanyutkan dan yakin pembuatnya pasti super brilian menghargai detail dan aaaahhh BRILIAN.

Mereka dari Indonesia. Masa belum pernah sekalipun saya menonton mereka?
Next Time : harus.
Pasti masih ada kesempatan, sampai bertemu, The Trees and The Wild, di kesempatan itu.

Graduation

This time, it's not mine. It's my bestfriend's :)
I bought her this beautiful flower bucket with a lily and roses. It was rainy and it felt rather gloomy.

with the graduate :)

college best-friends <3

And for the "special" present of the day, I brought her two little girls who works as an entertainer on traffic lights. Yes, they do work, to earn their money. They said it was for school. I encourage them to save their money which they got for their own savings. I felt my heart sank deep when I saw them counting their coins but I was so happy that my friends and I could give a little for them. Hoping for the best for them :) Ah, I forgot to take a picture with them, such cute little kids.

Every graduation is a lesson learned :)

Nothing Beats!

Yea been listening to these following artist for the whole week:

1. Mumford and Sons
2. Fleet Foxes
3. Cranberries - their greatest hits to calm my nerve for not watching them live
4. Frente
5. The Trees and The Wild - the always calming and soothing music
6. Adele

Nothing can go wrong. If I just felt a little bored, press next. Shuffled, voila!!
One morning I was humming Berlin by The Trees and The Wild while listening to Cranberries, I know it's weird, and suddenly the player plays Berlin. It was like joy in my ear.

Nothing beats!!

Favorite tracks:

Mumford and Sons : The Cave, Timshell
Fleet Foxes : Blue Ridge Mountain, Oliver James
Cranberries : Analyse
Frente : Accidentally Kelly Street
The Trees and The Wild : Berlin, Derau dan Kesalahan, Irish Girl, Noble Savage (haha, see too much)
Adele : Rumor Has It, Rolling in The Deep

With the playlist, working 12 hours a day doesn't sound bad (well it pays off later with 'cha-ching'!)

Lesson Learned

Okay, so lesson learned: don't buy any promotional tickets too far in advance. 6 month in advance is still too far in advanced.

I bought tickets to India on a promotional fare, around last October, to depart on mid-April this year, for a two week trip. Suddenly, my cousin is planning to get married (well, I didn't know and didn't hear any plan, and just so suddenly the date is set) and it's on the day I am still away for the trip. So to be able to make it to the wedding, I got to reschedule the promotional tickets I bought, and it costs me twice the original price I got to pay on the first place. It's like I am buying 3 set of tickets with the original price. Yet, I'm not.

CRY.

When I knew the price I got to pay, I wanted to back-out from the trip. But well, I might not be able to go again. It's a dilemma.

CRY.

I learned my lesson, and more, there should be something behind this, SOMETHING BETTER.

In the end, let's just hope the trip was fun. :)

Something Better :)

If there was a particular house you wanted, or a particular relationship or job you wanted, and you didn't get it, the Universe is telling you that it was not good enough, and did not match you dream. It is also telling you that it has something BETTER and more worthy of you.

Something better is coming...... you're allowed to be excited!!!

For Sentimental Reason

Just so suddenly, I wanted to llisten to The All-American Rejects' Swing-swing. Partly because it reminds me of my brother, when he leave home to go to school at the states (just like now, working off-shore, away from home, at his birthday), and partly because of Tyson Ritter.

Midnights always give you rambles, uh?
Well at least, Tyson Ritter doesn't let me down. (Now that's two sentences that doesn't make sense together)

Dilemma?

I could not even pick between a 2 or a 5 to fit in a Sudoku puzzle when those are the only choice of number to fit in a 9 box of the 81 puzzle (I am sure I got you confused, but if you play one maybe you'll get what I meant).

So how do I assure myself to pick a job with a more diverse job description but I am sure I will love and pretty much still understand; or a more settle job (for example, an architect). Both I want, but not sure which one wants me back (wth was I thinking?)

I am blabbing. It's all about taking chances, but this time my gut is telling me nothing.

Letters

you came in a line
dropping in letter by letter
silent whispers like you used to

it turns to little laugh
and grow little story
a habit once shared

line by line progress
and line became words
words became letters

but, this is as far as we'd go
separate in time and place
just like yesterdays

you're fading away
you came as quick
as you'd go

~thanks for the short talk

Smoke

you're blowing smoke in my eyes
blurring vision and sights
bright eyes and teasing grin
a past seeping in

I've had breathless morning
waking up to reality
a trust for you is daunting
unless you'd give me clarity

Post Script

I had a nice chat with Laras, talking about future, well our little future, job seeking, and to dreams. This one is an addition to amazing things today.

But since it's a friendship I cherised, and I am wishing for a long one, it's not the amazing things that happened today, but it's an amazing thing. Period

TODAY

Yes. Today. Indeed.

Today start as an orrrrdinary day. I was so lazy to get up from bed, since my alarm wouldn't rang for another 5 minutes. Still sleepy, I took a shower, dress up, took my lunch, and get in the car. Well, today's a bit different, my father took a different route than the usual to take me to office, it was traffic jam everywhere. I was half an hour late for work.
But then, amazing things happened, and these are only the ones I remember, I might have missed others.

One.
I arrived at work and a co-worker handed me a new project to do, I was like 'YEAY', a real project. I got to do a little drawing on a kitchen set design. So I was excited and I get my ass on it as soon as possible, and for the first time I forgot lunch time until my co-worker asked me if I wanted to have lunch. Busy me, right?

Two.
In the middle of the drawing process, I got a phone call. It was a calling for a test and interview for a job I applied a day earlier. It's so quick I couldn't believe it myself. Some say the job doesn't pay much, but I guess I'll give it a try.

Three.
I was done with the drawing and waiting for the feedback while doing other drawing. Then a message appeared on my blackberry. A New Mail! I opened it, and WOW! I am a finalist in a house design competition. Well, though I did not win, they want to exhibit the design and compile it in one book. Wow. That's awesome, right? I'd buy the book and frame it.

Four.

I told my boyfriend that our design made the finalist on the design competition. And he said that we got two design on the finals. WHAT? Two? One is awesome, but TWO? it's TWOAWESOME!!

Five.

I went home over work hours. Not a big deal, because the later I go home actually the bus is emptier so I could get a seat. But still I got to catch the bus, because my dad is already on his way picking me up at our meeting point. So I rushed to catch the bus. And... I missed the bus. So I waited patiently because it's already past 6 pm, I am sure the bus is empty. AND IT IS! After a long wait, another bus arrived and I got a seat!

Six.
The bus was quite empty. The air conditioner is chilly. And then, I think the bus driver got bored with the traffic, so he started playing with his CB Radio,

yea, this kind of radio. He sort of chatted with a fellow driver, with a funny voice, a lazy snoring voice. I wanted to laugh, but nobody seem to notice what the driver's doing. At least I got an enjoyable ride.

Seven.

I arrived home and went straight to my room, turn on my laptop and BANG! I accidentally banged my head to my drafting table. Blood. Little blood. But it felt a little bit chilly minty now. I've accidentally "smashed" m

y head to my drafting table but this is exactly the first time in four years since I used drafting table, I bleed. Haha. I thought it was funny, a long wait, huh?

Eight.
I was browsing through fashion blog when a notification email appeared on my desktop. I got an email from Ikea (I applied for a job through Ikea.com a month earlier). I couldn't understand the email since it's written in Norwegian. So I was shaking while copy-pasting the text to Google Translate. Unfortunately, I didn't get the job. But well, I didn't thought I'd get a reply anyway, so this is something to be celebrate! Hahahaha...

I wanted to add nine, but I am very sleepy. I guess the number continues tomorrow!

Have a blessed day (tomorrow)!

Countdown to Zero

How I Met Your Mother's 13th episode is just the saddest and you'll never realize that until you watch the "Bad News" episode through the very end.

After quite a christmas-new year break, I am very excited to watch the latest episode of this sitcom. Yea, and realizing something suspicious when the number 50 and 49 was seen on same set but different scene, I just know this is something fun! Bad News? It would turn out to be good news, that's what I thought.

Coming through the end, when Marshall and Lily found out that they're actually fit and happy to have kids, the shocker came and the episode ends.

But I had to give credits to the team who had made such and incredible sightings of countdown number from 50 to 00. Hands down. Saddest but best episode, so far.

Here's a better review at it.

2010 Memories

one of my best moments in 2010.

I had a tiny acoustic group called Insanity Above Imagination. It was first named IAI, from our names Irene Andhang Irwin, but I thought it would be even cooler if we had a real name :)
This year, on our college affliation annual celebration, we tried to perform in a full band format. With help from our two very nice juniors we made it.

And it was a great performance, though well yea, there's imperfection. But what's important is that we and the audience enjoy the show :)

Newly Adjusted Room

few awesome spots :)

My walls are pretty much still plain white wall with cracks here and there. I have few ideas in mind, but haven't put it into works just yet. My room is now cleaner and well, less cluttered.

and awesome fact I found today at tumblr:
we've lived in 2 milleniums, 2 centuries, 3 decades

2011 GONNA BE LEGEN... wait for it.. DARY!

The Trees and The Wild

I think I may be a little late on this band.
The Trees and The Wild is a band from Indonesia. Three guys on a guitar, can't have enough of em. And I don't know why I am so late on it, I just heard them a couple days ago, and I just can't get enough of them.

At the beginning, I didn't really pay too much attention on the lyrics because I fell in love with their music instantly. It is very serene, heart-breaking, romantic, but aggressive at the same time. Before I wrote this post, I had just googled their lyrics. And my jaw drops. The lyrics are yes (damn) heartbreaking-ly romantic. Hands down. It has this loving but loneliness love written all over it. But it also has a sense of hope and positiveness.

Definitely recommended!

Life in Paradox

Since a couple days back,
I've been having this weird feelings
Anxiety, rejection, loneliness, sadness
Happiness, wholeness, excitement

Yes, you can't have all you want in the world, but you can have that such feelings right here right now

And at this very moment
I am feeling all those anxiety, rejection, loneliness, and sadness
But at the same time
I am glad, really glad, that I am not alone

God, just give us enough strength to carry on :)

Ask. Believe. Receive

Ask, Believe, Receive - just three simple steps to create what you want. However, very often the second step, believe, can be the most difficult one. And yet it is the greatest step you will ever take.

Believing contains no doubt.
Believing does not waiver.
Believing is absolute faith.
Believing remains steadfast despite what is happening in the outside world.

When you master believing, you have mastered your life.

New Day, New Heart, New Love, New Self, New Spirit

♥ Immerse yourself in something positive. Volunteer at a no kill animal shelter. Read to the elderly. Start an art project. Do something to create a positive influence for yourself. Negative thoughts and places are dangerous when you're down.

♥ Stop letting yourself only see the negatives when you look in the mirror. I used to always think "I'd be acceptable looking if I lost 10 pounds and my skin was better." and that's all I saw. I saw the negatives first and I almost never saw the positives. What do you like about yourself? What good things to others see in you? Why are you unique? How are you beautiful?

♥ Avoid negative people for a while. It's best to cut those people out all together, but that's not always possible. Just take a break. You're weak right now and you need to avoid people who will further bring you down.

♥ Don't be afraid to take it easy and don't beat yourself up for it. Just like if you had a cold, you'd try to make yourself feel better with medicine, rest, and good eating habits. You're under the weather right now, just not physically. Do things you like, surround yourself with people you love, and don't forget to fill your life with positive energy 24/7.

♥ Try something new. Change up your hair or your clothes. Stop listening to music that reinforces how you're currently feeling. Stop watching sad movies.

♥ Buy a blank notebook. Draw a huge heart on the cover. Don't write anything negative in here. If you need another outlet, make a separate notebook. This one is all about love, personal growth, and getting back up. Fill it with beautiful images, reaffirming thoughts, and quotes. Write in it every day, and each day write one thing you're grateful for in your life.

♥ Get on a healthier path. Stop eating junk food. Quit smoking. Cut back on sugar. Start exercising. Get plenty of sleep. Buy some daily vitamins and drink a lot of tea each day. Replace unhealthy foods with plenty of fruits and vegetables and drink TONS of water.

♥ Pick up a new skill and refine it.

♥ Go to the bookstore and navigate yourself to the self help section. Choose a book that appeals to you the most and best applies. Read it and then go back for another.

♥ Dedicate at least two hours of your day to yourself. This is your writing, thinking, and growing time. You're on a mission, you need time to complete it.

♥ Find someone you can talk to. Have deep conversations with them.

♥ Do not let yourself sink into your old habits even when you start to feel better. If you fall of the wagon, get right back on it.

♥ Make a list of your negative traits that you feel can be improved. Work on them one by one.

♥ Don't be that person who's always complaining or upset. When you talk to people, be positive. Find the good in every situation and point it out.

♥ Never be embarrassed or afraid to admit that you're not the strongest right now. Be honest. Everyone's been there. Don't hide behind a mask.

♥ Don't jump into new relationships or cling on to people for stability. Be your own rock.

♥ Be open. Try new things. Go out and do something. Meet new people. Explore opportunities.

She and Him

You may not be her first, her last, or her only. She loved before, she may love again. But if she loves you now, what else matters? She’s not perfect – your aren’t either, and the two of you may never be perfect together but if she can make you laugh, cause you to think twice, and admit to being human and making mistakes, hold onto her and give her the most you can. She may not be thinking about you every second of the day, but she will give you a part of her that she knows you can break – her heart. So don’t hurt her, don’t change her, don’t analyze and don’t expect more than she can give. Smile when she makes you happy, let her know when she makes you mad, and miss her when she’s not there.

Talking Talk

I am never good at socializing.
Always awkward.

I am better speaking through words.
And still, with words I couldn't express much of me. Sometimes I found it hard to express what I feel.

Anybody feels like me?

Daily Bread

1 Peter 3:8-12
Repay abuse with a blessing

Finally, all of you, have unity of spirit, sympathy, love for one another, a tender heart, and a humble mind. Do not repay evil for evil or abuse for abuse; but, on the contrary, repay with a blessing. It is for this that you were called - that you might inherit a blessing. For
"Those who desire life
and desire to see good days,
let them keep their tongues from evil
and their lips from speaking deceit;
let them turn away from evil and do good;
let them seek peace and pursue it.
For the eyes of the Lord are on the righteous,
and his ears are open to their prayer.
But the face of the Lord is against those who do evil."

Pretty Little Liars

One Summer show that been stopped. Well, postponed because it got good feedbacks from audience. It was made to be a short summer series, but since the audience liked it, the show will be continued on January.

The story follows bestfriends of five. One missing, and later found dead. The four other being devastated but yet later found themselves being terrored by messages sent by their bestfriend who was already dead. The story tells about bestfriends keeping secrets, but not really keeping it at all. Did she or didn't she? Yea.. it's that kind of a story. And yes, it's mysterious from the first episode until the last episode of this summer. And yes again, since it's postponed it was left HANGING.

Ten entertaining episodes worth watching.

On Bad Times, Remember This:

And you have forgotten that word of encouragement that addresses you as sons:
"My son, do not make light of the Lord's discipline,
and do not lose heart when he rebukes you,
because the Lord disciplines those he loves,
and he punishes everyone he accepts as a son."

Endure hardship as discipline; God is treating you as sons. For what son is not disciplined by his father? No discipline seems pleasant at the time, but painful. Later on, however, it produces a harvest of righteousness and peace for those who have been trained by it. Therefore, strengthen your feeble arms and weak knees. "Make level paths for your feet," so that the lame may not be disabled, but rather healed.
-Hebrews 12

Yes, God already decides on your life

He made it all easier.

As I told in the earlier post, I am applying for THE programm held by my faculty. Yea, I get the shot. Well, I past the first phase of selection and I get to do the interview tomorrow.

Unfortunately, my father couldn't support the fundings (as the school only would support in a very little amount, and I really mean it on th little part) so when I got the first email from my lecturer that I am qualified to be one of the participant, I am so bummed out. So I hang my hopes up there, cause I still wished I could go somewhere else :D

Earlier today, I was diagnosed with typhus (I am not really sure which is the right way to write it). And so, I needed a bed rest. So again, when I got another email telling me that I passed the first phase and the committee would like to do an interview with me, I blanked. Gee. I am selected as the big18. Yea, but I can't came.

So there I go, letting go :) well, here I AM, letting go.

PS: my gut is so damn right, the optimism and the dragging me down thing haha

Excited Anxious and Going Crazy

Yea, that's kinda how I feel about this thing.
I'm applying for a 12-day collaboration design studio at Germany held by my faculty. And it's really making me excited and anxious, at the same time. It's getting on my nerves....

I had re-do my portfolio in a simpler nicer way. And also it contains new projects. It's so good. I got a good feeling about this but at the same time something is dragging me down. But hey, I'm holding on :)

Since I had it in my mind almost all the time, one night I dreamt about it. It was so intense. Going to the interviews, meeting my lecturer, and so on. And in my dream, I got the chance to go :)

*crossing fingers*

Today should bring some update news about the program. Hope it's a good thing :) Wish me luck!

The Girl

I've finished reading the book a couple days ago and I've just watched the movie a couple hours ago. So much for curiousity, eh?

I watched the movie because I am really curious how the book would be portrayed. The book is sooooo amazing. Well, the plot is rather slow at the beginning through half-part of the book, I think that's why those part was not in the movie so much either. Anyways, I get soooo excited reading through the end, because the book elaborates the "detective mode" very nicely. Very clear. Very smart. Stieg Larsson is one MAN! The movie, well, disappoint me quite enough since there are I think important part that is missing. The detective mode.

The book gives the thriller sense on the story, but in my opinion the film is not so thrilling (compared to the book). But I should give credits to the actors who portrays the characters. The acting is sooooo nice, believable and at one point I was thinking "Damn, he really looks like a sex addict" on this one supporting character who is a sex-addict-rapist-cruel-man.

So, I'm giving the book a 4.5 out of 5 stars (just because it bores me at the beginning :p but managed to excite me through the end) and a 3 out of 5 stars (because it was too short :p but still got great actors). I recommend you to read the book. It's a really nice book, and relatively cheap in Indonesia. :)

PS: I already bought the second series on the trilogy, "The Girl Who Played With Fire". Yes, it's a trilogy.

Miss-erable

Oh, how I so much miss this place. This is my old room in Bandung.

I miss the feeling of solitude being there. All the 10-am-waking-up, eating McDonald's delieveries, watching TV all day, making paper models.

This is how I met you, and how I left you. Empty.

seeing yourself in somebody else

I just realize that when we think about something on ourself, sometimes there are a lot of things we missed. Now that I realize this one thing, I am very gratefull.

When we think on ourselves, do our own introspections, there are some things we missed, we are caught up in our own minds.

But I find it when we talk about our introspections with other people, sometimes it was not the other person who brings up the true of ourselves, but we came to realize it by ourselves. maybe sometimes it is better to talk with ourselves through a media. for me, I have two things as the media, other people and writings..

hmm..

I hope by this, everything will be better..

oh maybe you could read this as an inspiration

something called

lately, I have become so sensitive.
first to blame, PMS. a phenomenon that I never understand and mostly unable to solve.
false blame?
maybe, I just got too much of things in my mind and no balance in my heart?
or maybe, I just asked too much?
or maybe, I just don't get what I deserve?
or maybe, I am being normal and people are being insensitive?
or maybe,.... I don't know...

then I come across Reytia's post on this, then I have this thought.
everyone of us wants to be understand. obviously.
but every one of us has to big of something called ego.
and when no one would turn down the ego,
the world ends.

maybe, take a deep breath. exhale.
let's try to turn down ego.

yet one thing seems to fall
and other seems to follow
but it never came across my mind
