The Trees and The Wild

I think I may be a little late on this band.
The Trees and The Wild is a band from Indonesia. Three guys on a guitar, can't have enough of em. And I don't know why I am so late on it, I just heard them a couple days ago, and I just can't get enough of them.

At the beginning, I didn't really pay too much attention on the lyrics because I fell in love with their music instantly. It is very serene, heart-breaking, romantic, but aggressive at the same time. Before I wrote this post, I had just googled their lyrics. And my jaw drops. The lyrics are yes (damn) heartbreaking-ly romantic. Hands down. It has this loving but loneliness love written all over it. But it also has a sense of hope and positiveness.

Definitely recommended!

Life in Paradox

Since a couple days back,
I've been having this weird feelings
Anxiety, rejection, loneliness, sadness
Happiness, wholeness, excitement

Yes, you can't have all you want in the world, but you can have that such feelings right here right now

And at this very moment
I am feeling all those anxiety, rejection, loneliness, and sadness
But at the same time
I am glad, really glad, that I am not alone

God, just give us enough strength to carry on :)

The Price of Life

How much does it worth?
To lose trust and respect from a person who once meant a lot to you,
And the rest of your surroundings

Ask. Believe. Receive

Ask, Believe, Receive - just three simple steps to create what you want. However, very often the second step, believe, can be the most difficult one. And yet it is the greatest step you will ever take.

Believing contains no doubt.
Believing does not waiver.
Believing is absolute faith.
Believing remains steadfast despite what is happening in the outside world.

When you master believing, you have mastered your life.

New Day, New Heart, New Love, New Self, New Spirit

♥ Immerse yourself in something positive. Volunteer at a no kill animal shelter. Read to the elderly. Start an art project. Do something to create a positive influence for yourself. Negative thoughts and places are dangerous when you're down.

♥ Stop letting yourself only see the negatives when you look in the mirror. I used to always think "I'd be acceptable looking if I lost 10 pounds and my skin was better." and that's all I saw. I saw the negatives first and I almost never saw the positives. What do you like about yourself? What good things to others see in you? Why are you unique? How are you beautiful?

♥ Avoid negative people for a while. It's best to cut those people out all together, but that's not always possible. Just take a break. You're weak right now and you need to avoid people who will further bring you down.

♥ Don't be afraid to take it easy and don't beat yourself up for it. Just like if you had a cold, you'd try to make yourself feel better with medicine, rest, and good eating habits. You're under the weather right now, just not physically. Do things you like, surround yourself with people you love, and don't forget to fill your life with positive energy 24/7.

♥ Try something new. Change up your hair or your clothes. Stop listening to music that reinforces how you're currently feeling. Stop watching sad movies.

♥ Buy a blank notebook. Draw a huge heart on the cover. Don't write anything negative in here. If you need another outlet, make a separate notebook. This one is all about love, personal growth, and getting back up. Fill it with beautiful images, reaffirming thoughts, and quotes. Write in it every day, and each day write one thing you're grateful for in your life.

♥ Get on a healthier path. Stop eating junk food. Quit smoking. Cut back on sugar. Start exercising. Get plenty of sleep. Buy some daily vitamins and drink a lot of tea each day. Replace unhealthy foods with plenty of fruits and vegetables and drink TONS of water.

♥ Pick up a new skill and refine it.

♥ Go to the bookstore and navigate yourself to the self help section. Choose a book that appeals to you the most and best applies. Read it and then go back for another.

♥ Dedicate at least two hours of your day to yourself. This is your writing, thinking, and growing time. You're on a mission, you need time to complete it.

♥ Find someone you can talk to. Have deep conversations with them.

♥ Do not let yourself sink into your old habits even when you start to feel better. If you fall of the wagon, get right back on it.

♥ Make a list of your negative traits that you feel can be improved. Work on them one by one.

♥ Don't be that person who's always complaining or upset. When you talk to people, be positive. Find the good in every situation and point it out.

♥ Never be embarrassed or afraid to admit that you're not the strongest right now. Be honest. Everyone's been there. Don't hide behind a mask.

♥ Don't jump into new relationships or cling on to people for stability. Be your own rock.

♥ Be open. Try new things. Go out and do something. Meet new people. Explore opportunities.

She and Him

You may not be her first, her last, or her only. She loved before, she may love again. But if she loves you now, what else matters? She’s not perfect – your aren’t either, and the two of you may never be perfect together but if she can make you laugh, cause you to think twice, and admit to being human and making mistakes, hold onto her and give her the most you can. She may not be thinking about you every second of the day, but she will give you a part of her that she knows you can break – her heart. So don’t hurt her, don’t change her, don’t analyze and don’t expect more than she can give. Smile when she makes you happy, let her know when she makes you mad, and miss her when she’s not there.

Talking Talk

I am never good at socializing.
Always awkward.

I am better speaking through words.
And still, with words I couldn't express much of me. Sometimes I found it hard to express what I feel.

Anybody feels like me?

Daily Bread

1 Peter 3:8-12
Repay abuse with a blessing

Finally, all of you, have unity of spirit, sympathy, love for one another, a tender heart, and a humble mind. Do not repay evil for evil or abuse for abuse; but, on the contrary, repay with a blessing. It is for this that you were called - that you might inherit a blessing. For
"Those who desire life
and desire to see good days,
let them keep their tongues from evil
and their lips from speaking deceit;
let them turn away from evil and do good;
let them seek peace and pursue it.
For the eyes of the Lord are on the righteous,
and his ears are open to their prayer.
But the face of the Lord is against those who do evil."

Pretty Little Liars

One Summer show that been stopped. Well, postponed because it got good feedbacks from audience. It was made to be a short summer series, but since the audience liked it, the show will be continued on January.

The story follows bestfriends of five. One missing, and later found dead. The four other being devastated but yet later found themselves being terrored by messages sent by their bestfriend who was already dead. The story tells about bestfriends keeping secrets, but not really keeping it at all. Did she or didn't she? Yea.. it's that kind of a story. And yes, it's mysterious from the first episode until the last episode of this summer. And yes again, since it's postponed it was left HANGING.

Ten entertaining episodes worth watching.

On Bad Times, Remember This:

And you have forgotten that word of encouragement that addresses you as sons:
"My son, do not make light of the Lord's discipline,
and do not lose heart when he rebukes you,
because the Lord disciplines those he loves,
and he punishes everyone he accepts as a son."

Endure hardship as discipline; God is treating you as sons. For what son is not disciplined by his father? No discipline seems pleasant at the time, but painful. Later on, however, it produces a harvest of righteousness and peace for those who have been trained by it. Therefore, strengthen your feeble arms and weak knees. "Make level paths for your feet," so that the lame may not be disabled, but rather healed.
-Hebrews 12

Yes, God already decides on your life

He made it all easier.

As I told in the earlier post, I am applying for THE programm held by my faculty. Yea, I get the shot. Well, I past the first phase of selection and I get to do the interview tomorrow.

Unfortunately, my father couldn't support the fundings (as the school only would support in a very little amount, and I really mean it on th little part) so when I got the first email from my lecturer that I am qualified to be one of the participant, I am so bummed out. So I hang my hopes up there, cause I still wished I could go somewhere else :D

Earlier today, I was diagnosed with typhus (I am not really sure which is the right way to write it). And so, I needed a bed rest. So again, when I got another email telling me that I passed the first phase and the committee would like to do an interview with me, I blanked. Gee. I am selected as the big18. Yea, but I can't came.

So there I go, letting go :) well, here I AM, letting go.

PS: my gut is so damn right, the optimism and the dragging me down thing haha

Excited Anxious and Going Crazy

Yea, that's kinda how I feel about this thing.
I'm applying for a 12-day collaboration design studio at Germany held by my faculty. And it's really making me excited and anxious, at the same time. It's getting on my nerves....

I had re-do my portfolio in a simpler nicer way. And also it contains new projects. It's so good. I got a good feeling about this but at the same time something is dragging me down. But hey, I'm holding on :)

Since I had it in my mind almost all the time, one night I dreamt about it. It was so intense. Going to the interviews, meeting my lecturer, and so on. And in my dream, I got the chance to go :)

*crossing fingers*

Today should bring some update news about the program. Hope it's a good thing :) Wish me luck!

The Girl

I've finished reading the book a couple days ago and I've just watched the movie a couple hours ago. So much for curiousity, eh?

I watched the movie because I am really curious how the book would be portrayed. The book is sooooo amazing. Well, the plot is rather slow at the beginning through half-part of the book, I think that's why those part was not in the movie so much either. Anyways, I get soooo excited reading through the end, because the book elaborates the "detective mode" very nicely. Very clear. Very smart. Stieg Larsson is one MAN! The movie, well, disappoint me quite enough since there are I think important part that is missing. The detective mode.

The book gives the thriller sense on the story, but in my opinion the film is not so thrilling (compared to the book). But I should give credits to the actors who portrays the characters. The acting is sooooo nice, believable and at one point I was thinking "Damn, he really looks like a sex addict" on this one supporting character who is a sex-addict-rapist-cruel-man.

So, I'm giving the book a 4.5 out of 5 stars (just because it bores me at the beginning :p but managed to excite me through the end) and a 3 out of 5 stars (because it was too short :p but still got great actors). I recommend you to read the book. It's a really nice book, and relatively cheap in Indonesia. :)

PS: I already bought the second series on the trilogy, "The Girl Who Played With Fire". Yes, it's a trilogy.
