On another subject,

if he/she knew what I've done or what I've been through, will she still think of me the same way?

Yes, I still believe, people don't change, they grow.

Hopefully

If this building I am working on is built, it will be my first building to be build (well not exactly mine, but well I am involved in behind the scene). And if it shall be the tallest, shall I be grounded. :) Amen.

Sunday At Home

I am recommending this singer. He quitted The Glee Project show recently. But hey. Listen to his voice. He reminds me of someone? Got some singer in mind? if you do, please leave comments... please...

**UPDATE**

I remember, his voice has a similar character with Jonathan Foreman of Switchfoot. Don't ya think? Jonathan Foreman, add that to the list!!

A Story About History

Back couple a days ago, a friend talk to me about this man, Ilyas Karim. At first I don't know who he was. Never heard of the name until this friend of mine explains who he was.

Who is he?

Well here are a couple articles from Indonesian news site (in Indonesian).
Read: Ilyas Karim Masih Tinggal di Pinggir Rel (Ilyas Karim Still Living on The Side of The Railway) from Kompas.com
Read: Ilyas Karim, Pengibar Bendera Merah Putih Saat Proklamasi, Dapat Hadiah Apartemen (Ilyas Karim, The Flag Raiser on Proclamation Day, Gets An Apartment) from Republika.co.id

He was the man, who said to be a forgotten hero. He said he was the man who raised the first hand-sewn Indonesian flag to the pole. He was pointing to a man wearing a short on a historical photo to be him. As he was now known as a forgotten hero, people grew sympathy towards him because he still live on the side of the railway, and on the verge of eviction.

How can I not recognize his name, if he was suppose to be in history lesson about the day Indonesian independence was declared by our founding father?

This is what I know.

Back in junior high and elementary school. There are three names, I learned as the men who raised the flag. It was Latief Hendraningrat, S.K Trimurti, and S. Suhud. For reference, I found these articles on the internet, dated 2007 and 2008.

Read: Detik-Detik Menjelang Proklamasi 17 Agustus 1945 (Seconds to The Proclamation, August 17,1945)
Read: Tokoh-Tokoh Proklamasi 17 Agustus 1945 dan Perannya Pada Persiapan Pelaksanaan Proklamasi (People Behind The Proclamation, August 17,1945, and The Role in The Preparation for The Proclamation)

Where is Ilyas Karim? Could he be one of them? Name changes? or is it a wrong lesson in
history? Where were he before this year?

If the articles weren't valid enough, I hope this picture could give valid information.
Picture taken from Museum Joang'45.

Written above, the man Ilyas Karim claimed to be him (the one in shorts), was indeed S. Suhud.
My friend was indeed the grand-child of S. Suhud himself. His family is quite shocked with the news, as Ilyas Karim was pointing to the picture of a man who was all this time known to be S.Suhud, the grand-father, the father. My friend said that if Ilyas Karim was right, then all this time history has not been told right and he would be more upset because his grand-father was lying all this time. But if Ilyas Karim was wrong? Then.. you decide.

Perhaps for some-people a flag-raiser was not considered to be somebody important to be fussed about, but if it's not important hey look who's getting all the attention now? I'm not trying to defend or offense anyone, but I am just curious about this history and a little dissapointed on Indonesian media for not doing research before writing the article. I hope I am not misleading in anyway.

May the truth wins.

PARAMORE I WANT MORE

CAN'T SAY ENOUGH WORDS TO DESCRIBE HOW I FEEL (and too bad I didn't get much picture of the performance itself because I am to caught up)
Though I didn't get the chance to meet Hayley in person, but to see the band perform live was such a worth (for the money, partly skipping work, and so on and so on) and though I didn't get the FRONT ROW (too bad, it was a long queue and nobody wants to queue with me from early on) but I still get to enjoy the show with some struggle-still.

Perfect setlist. Ignorance as opening and Misery Business as encore closing. I almost cry during Misery Business I don't know why and I got chills. Too bad they're not playing Hallelujah, that would really show what Hayley can DO. Hayley is such a firework! She ran all across stage, jumping, dancing, moving, head-banging, you name it, and she hadn't lose her breath until almost the end of show. SUCH A SPIRIT. Taylor and Jeremy, perfect duo, also energetic and very engaging with the audience. But Hayley stole my night (girl-crush alert).

After this, I can't wait to watch Yellowcard.

Sunday At The Office

Last sunday, I was working at the office (don't make me start on rambling how architecture sucks my social life). Instead of listening to the playlist through other workmate's computer speaker, I chose to listen to an online radio known as AccuRadio. Well it's not actually a radio, it's kind of similar to Last.fm. It just played songs according to a certain classification. It saved my life. Well, it saved me from making a boring playlist.

I chose to listen to Alternative station. At first I listened to the HitKast station, and it was more a dance-up-beat song I get tired to after a couple songs, then so I switched. After a couple skips on bands I didn't really know or too rocky (is that a term?) and listening to couple other bands. I started making this ridiculous list. A list of a couple band vocalist or band-member-who-also-sing-a-bit with a voice that is like a soothing voice in your ears and it calms you even when you're doing over-time on a SUNDAY at THE OFFICE.

Here's the shortlist (not in any particular order):
  1. Jason Wade of Lifehouse
  2. Chris Cornell of Audioslave
  3. Brandon Boyd of Incubus
  4. Damian Kulash of OK GO
  5. Mark Hoppus of Blink 182
  6. Rivers Cuomo of Weezer
    **UPDATE**
  7. Jonathan Foreman of Switchfoot
please recommend me more more more of this dreamy voice!!!

Oh My Gosh

It's gonna be hell-of-a-concert-year for Indonesia. I could not even recall which bands have come here.

One of it is Paramore. They're coming here NEXT WEEK. Already bought tickets since months ago and I join a contest/games/quiz to win
an opportunity to meet the band on a meet-and-greet or even cooler a BACKSTAGE PASS!! So excited I hope I win!!

This morning just saw an official news from Yellowcard. It goes like this:

SO EXCITED!!! Going to watch this with my brother!! Woohoo...
I couldn't thank him enough for giving me this:

Signed Yellowcard CD

One Word to sum this all: EXCITED!

Thankful

And you should always be..

I regret that this afternoon I was too selfish too admit I was forgotten in this world..

But tonight, when I need the biggest support, I got them. From the people who perhaps didn't bother me on a daily basis. Well, all you got to do is (probably) ask..

You know who you are. Thanks for supporting me on this journey to meet Hayley Williams of Paramore :)

Changes

Dear the-rest-of-universe-who-doesn't-understand,

Yes, here I am writing cowardly. I knew what I did was wrong. I know you must've been hurt too that you now hate me constantly or tried so hard not to hate me but in reverse, hate yourself. What I did was something I am not proud either and yourself is not who you should hate.

What I did was merely an act of anger, from a heart that is hurt. I did not want anything or even anyone to wait for this heart to be repaired to even start-over, cause this heart has had its turn and to be sorry, it has changed, which I hope it grew stronger. Waiting is not a waste of time, but without a due, it is. So that's why I did not want anything or even anyone to wait. Because I have waited and somehow along the way I didn't realize my heart loses what it was suppose to keep.

So, let's just move along. Let's forgive ourselves, cause that's what I am trying. It's my way to start over, to repair. Judge me all you want, bring along your judgements to me 'cause I won't try to defend myself anymore. Wrong was wrong. Let's keep that in the past, cause I have closed the book.

Que Sera Sera.

Sincerely,
A Heart In Repair
